Of crows and cats and underwear…

The sun hasn’t come out here in southeast Wisconsin for several days now.  Dull, overcast, dreary, and every other meteorological word equating to depressing.

Even the birds are being affected by the dismal weather.  This morning the crows had a huge rumble outside my bedroom window at 4:45 AM.  I’m not sure which side won; it sounded like the squirrel was providing color commentary and I don’t speak squirrel – yet.  Anyway, now I know why they call a flock of crows a “murder.”  They sure murdered my sleep!

My day has been in keeping with the weather and my mood.  Several jobs I tried to apply for had either already been deleted, were scams, or had defective application links.  The dog is gassy (note to self: feeding him last night’s leftover was NOT a good thing!), the cats have attitudes, and no fairy godmother appeared to do the dishes last night.  Heaven knows, the teenagers aren’t going to volunteer!

When she wants to be particularly annoying, my mother likes to tell me, “We all have to make our own sunshine!”  Ugh.  But today, and during many days in these tough times, she’s right – we do need to make our own sunshine.  So for your entertainment and viewing pleasure, I present:  “Whack-a kitty”

For those of you who are upset by this, I guarantee that no kittens were harmed, physically or psychologically, while filming this video.

Have a sunshiny day!

Beth

Today’s mystery: what is the earth force that prevents teenage boys from picking their underwear up off the bathroom floor?

Hello World!

Hello World!  Welcome to the Mysteries of My Life!

We encounter mysteries in our lives every day:  life-changing, mundane, silly, serious, irritating, expected, unexpected, and the list goes on.  How you approach these mysteries says a lot about you as a person.  Do you confront them head-on, determined to conquer and solve, or do you embrace the unknown and ride the whirlwind?

This is a place to talk about those mysteries; to share and explore all of life’s mysteries, large and small.  Along the way, we’ll laugh, cry, and maybe try to solve the biggest mystery of all:  what DOES happen to the socks that disappear in the washing machine?

I’m eager to get to know you all.  So perhaps the biggest mystery in my life today (besides the location of my car keys) is where do I start?
